Job Description


As a Security Officer - Government Facility - Full Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a government location, helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a secure environment for all staff and visitors. Your presence will be visible throughout the site as you conduct routine patrols, respond to situations, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, responding as appropriate to emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, utilizing proper protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols within and around the location, including the perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and support a secure environment.
  • Maintain detailed records and logs of activities, incidents, and any unusual occurrences as required by site procedures.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with staff, visitors, and/or the public while on duty.
  • Follow instructions from Allied Universal management and site leadership regarding post orders and ongoing responsibilities.
  • Assist in controlling access to restricted areas and monitor for security-related concerns during patrols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required as specified by the client.
  • Experience providing customer service is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
