As a Security Officer - Flex Chemical Access in Wilmington, DE, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal in a chemical or petrochemical location, you will play a key role in monitoring entrances and exits and verifying credentials to help to deter unauthorized activity. You will conduct regular patrols, remain visible throughout your shift, and interact professionally with all personnel and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and control access points to help to deter unauthorized entry into chemical and petrochemical facilities.
  • Verify identification and credentials of individuals entering restricted areas in accordance with site-specific policies.
  • Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting visitors, contractors, and employees at access control points.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures.
  • Support emergency response activities as required by site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter to observe and report any security-related irregularities or suspicious activity.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports of access control activities, incidents, and observations as required by Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and/or emergency responders as needed during incidents or drills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
