Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control Driver - Tech in BOISE, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Allied Universal team member in a tech and media environment, you will be responsible for access control by monitoring entry points, conducting routine patrols, and maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. Your role will also focus on providing outstanding customer service and clear communication to everyone onsite. This is a driving post and requires a valid driver's license. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond appropriately during emergency situations.
  • Control access to the location by verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Monitor and address incidents or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter potential security-related incidents.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, unusual observations, or concerns to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives.
  • Communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and contractors to provide directions and uphold access control protocols.
  • Utilize technology and access control systems to monitor and manage entry to restricted areas within the location, particularly suited to a tech, media, or telecom environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Ability to work at sites with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
