Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Telecom Sector Patrol in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a leading technology location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and create a secure atmosphere for employees, visitors, and assets. You will conduct regular patrols, maintain a visible presence, and provide outstanding customer service while addressing any security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergencies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activities and identifying potential issues.
  • Monitor for unusual or suspicious activity and report findings to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences as required.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with site staff, visitors, and emergency responders when required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort with using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
