Job Description


As a Security Officer - Cultural Patrol in New Haven, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a cultural institution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming environment. Your presence will be key in providing excellent customer service, assisting visitors, and supporting access control procedures. You will also communicate clearly with guests and staff, respond to alarms, and help foster a positive atmosphere. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to assist with maintaining order within the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and support a secure environment for visitors and staff.
  • Document observations and/or incidents as required by site protocols and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and/or guests to provide information and support as needed.
  • Remain alert to surroundings and report any unusual activity or potential hazards to the appropriate contacts.
  • Work in varying environments and conditions specific to cultural institutions, adapting to the unique needs of the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid Guard Card or security license is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
