Job Description


As a Security Professional -  Shelter Facility Patrol - Full Time in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will be responsible for monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help create a secure environment for residents and staff. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you provide excellent customer service and maintain open communication with those you encounter. You'll be part of a reliable, agile, and caring team that values integrity and innovation in every interaction, making a real difference in the lives of those you serve.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies and procedures, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm and problem-solving manner, assisting individuals as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols within the shelter facility and around the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and maintain a visible presence.
  • Observe and report any unusual activities or conditions that may impact the shelter environment, promptly communicating with Allied Universal management and/or client representatives as required.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs and incident reports related to patrols, observations, and interactions at the location.
  • Support shelter staff and visitors by addressing inquiries and offering assistance within the boundaries of site policies.
  • Follow all instructions and training provided by Allied Universal and/or site management to help maintain a welcoming and secure environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Must provide proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
