As a Security Officer - Utility Patrol in Santa Barbara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a major utilities location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will interact with visitors and personnel, deliver outstanding customer service, and utilize technology such as computers or tablets as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the utility facility and its perimeter, helping to deter unwanted activity and observe for irregularities.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help control access and report any unusual situations.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, hazards, and maintenance needs observed during patrols.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal management regarding security-related matters.
  • Remain alert to potential hazards or suspicious activity within the utility location and report findings promptly.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
