As a Security Officer - Shelter Patrol Supervisor PT in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will help to maintain a secure environment at a shelter location by conducting regular patrols and remaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will engage with staff and residents, offering outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting the well-being of everyone at the location. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, respond to emergency situations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Document observations, incidents, and activities in daily reports as required by Allied Universal and site requirements.
  • Communicate with staff and residents in a professional manner to support a welcoming and orderly environment.
  • Assist with access control procedures, including verifying identification and monitoring entry and exit points.
  • Support shelter staff during incidents or emergencies by providing information and assistance as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
