Job Description


As a Security Guard - Government Institution Patrol  in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations to help create a secure environment for everyone. Your presence and routine patrols will help to deter security-related incidents while delivering exceptional customer service and communication. You will be relied upon to remain visible and approachable, supporting both the client and the public with a proactive approach. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and provide a visible security-related presence.
  • Observe, report, and document any suspicious activities or security-related incidents as required by site policies.
  • Support access control procedures by monitoring entry and exit points and verifying credentials as needed.
  • Assist with crowd management and/or orderly flow of individuals through the location during peak times or special events.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and/or members of the public to provide assistance and information as needed.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site personnel to address security-related concerns and maintain a secure environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • Ability to work at locations with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
