As a Security Officer - Government Facility Patrol PT in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned government locations, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, engage with visitors and staff, and provide exceptional customer service while upholding the highest standards of communication and integrity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related incidents, or maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or other unwanted activity within the location.
  • Assist with access control procedures, verifying credentials and screening individuals entering the premises as required by site-specific guidelines.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and emergency personnel as needed.
  • Complete required logs, reports, and other documentation accurately and promptly as directed by Allied Universal policies and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
