Job Description


As a Security Officer - Hospital Dispatch Specialist in Fairfax, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Dispatch Security Professional in a healthcare location, you will play a vital role in monitoring and coordinating security-related activities to help create a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include managing communications, responding to incidents, and supporting access control protocols. By being proactive, visible, and approachable, you will help to deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and manage incoming calls, alarms, and emergency notifications at the healthcare location, dispatching appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including documentation and communication protocols.
  • Coordinate with on-site security-related teams and medical staff to relay critical information and support emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using established communication channels.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of all communications, incidents, and actions taken during the shift.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring surveillance systems and/or entry points, helping to deter unauthorized access within the healthcare location.
  • Communicate important updates or instructions to staff and/or visitors as needed during both routine and emergency situations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required for hospital assignments in accordance with client or state guidelines.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
