Job Description


As a Security Officer - Tech Campus Patrols Unarmed in Rock Tavern, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a dynamic technology and media environment. You will help to deter security-related incidents by maintaining a visible presence and conducting routine patrols. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and support a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, such as property damage, unusual behavior, or unauthorized persons in restricted areas.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to help protect people, assets, and information at the location.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and visitors to support a positive and secure atmosphere.
  • Complete required reports and documentation for incidents, observations, and daily activities.
  • Remain alert to potential security-related concerns specific to a technology, media, and telecom environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
