Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control Desk in COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a leading food and beverage location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entrances and exits, conducting routine patrols, and remaining visible throughout your assigned area. Your role will include providing exceptional customer service, clear communication, and utilizing technology such as computers or tablets to support your daily responsibilities. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by performing security-related procedures and adhering to site-specific policies at the location.
  • Control access to the premises by verifying credentials of employees, visitors, and vendors, and monitoring entry and exit points.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to the appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify any security-related concerns.
  • Monitor surveillance systems, alarms, and other access control systems to help to deter unauthorized access or suspicious behavior.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all access control activities, incidents, and observations as required by site protocols.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and vendors while addressing security-related inquiries or concerns.
  • Assist with emergency response activities according to established procedures at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid guard card or security-related license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
