Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Government Patrol in Lumberton, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal in a government location, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment. This is an armed and driving position, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain high visibility to help deter unwanted activity, and provide exceptional customer service through clear and professional communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the assigned location, including interior and perimeter areas, to help to deter unauthorized activities and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity or potential hazards, documenting details and notifying appropriate personnel as required.
  • Interact with visitors, employees, and/or contractors in a courteous and professional manner, verifying credentials as needed for access control.
  • Follow all post orders, protocols, and instructions provided by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Assist with emergency response activities and coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency responders as needed.
  • Maintain a visible armed presence at the location to help to deter criminal activity and provide reassurance to occupants.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least one year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
