As a Security Professional Flex - Tech/Media Patrol in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a tech-focused location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and promote a secure environment. Your visible presence will support daily operations, while you provide exceptional customer service and clear communication to all visitors and staff. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by performing security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including both the facility and its perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Maintain a visible Allied Universal presence to help to deter unwanted behavior and provide reassurance to employees and visitors.
  • Report and document any unusual activity, security-related incidents, or maintenance needs observed while on patrol.
  • Coordinate with site management and/or local authorities as needed for security-related matters.
  • Remain knowledgeable of site procedures and protocols specific to the technology, media, and telecom environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Experience with customer service, access control, and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A valid guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
