Job Description


As a Security Guard - Government Site Patrol - Access Control in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, contributing to a secure environment for all staff and visitors. Your visible presence and attention to detail will help to deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, assist with access control, and provide exceptional customer service while communicating clearly with the public. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and address security-related concerns.
  • Monitor the premises for unusual activity and report findings according to established protocols.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and members of the public as needed.
  • Document observations and incidents as required by site policies and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Support access control measures by verifying credentials and assisting with visitor management as directed.
  • Assist with emergency response efforts in accordance with training and site instructions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must provide proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
