Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Government Patrol Commander in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a crucial role in supporting a secure environment at a government location. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service and communication to all individuals on site. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, adhering to site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using sound judgment to manage each situation appropriately.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the assigned location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify any security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and address any suspicious behavior in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of observations and activities during shifts, documenting security-related incidents as required.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary, following site-specific protocols for armed personnel.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the assigned area to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to employees, contractors, and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least three years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
  • Maintain a valid armed guard card or license as required by law.
  • Provide proof of high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
