Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control in Meridian, MS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more.

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal in a logistics and distribution setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and unauthorized access. Your presence and attention to detail contribute to maintaining a secure environment for our client's operations. You will perform routine patrols, manage access control points, and interact with visitors and staff, delivering exceptional customer service and communication. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Control access to the logistics and distribution location by verifying credentials and authorizations for entry and exit.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of individuals and vehicles to help to deter unauthorized access and/or loss prevention.
  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and around the perimeter to help to deter potential incidents.
  • Document observations and incidents according to Allied Universal and client site requirements.
  • Assist with emergency response activities, including following established protocols for fire alarms, medical situations, or other emergencies.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate parties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
