Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control - Full Time in WEST POINT, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more.

As an Access Control professional with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. Your presence and routine patrols contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, while delivering exceptional customer service and communication. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license in the job state is required. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Perform access control duties, including verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points at the manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Provide customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and contractors with inquiries related to site-specific security-related procedures and protocols.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access by maintaining a visible presence and monitoring for unusual or suspicious activity.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility and its perimeter to support site policies and security-related procedures.
  • Respond promptly to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
  • Support emergency response activities when appropriate, including coordinating with site personnel and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Experience providing customer service is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
