As a Security Officer - Government Front Desk in Montrose, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As a Front Desk Security Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will serve as the first point of contact for visitors and staff, helping to create a professional and welcoming environment. Your responsibilities will include monitoring access, verifying credentials, responding to security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service. By maintaining a visible presence at the front desk, you help to deter unwanted activity and support a secure atmosphere. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist visitors, employees, and/or guests at the front desk, providing a professional and courteous presence at the location.
  • Monitor access to the premises by verifying identification, logging visitor information, and managing entry and exit procedures according to site-specific policies.
  • Carry out security-related procedures in accordance with client and Allied Universal guidelines, maintaining awareness of any unusual activity at the front desk.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the front desk in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as needed to appropriate personnel.
  • Support emergency response activities at the location, following established protocols and communicating clearly with relevant parties.
  • Provide customer service to all individuals entering or exiting the premises, answering questions and assisting as needed while upholding security-related standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
