Job Description


As a Security Guard - Access Control in Newberry, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more.

As a Security Officer specializing in access control at a major food and beverage location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, while managing visitor entry and exit. Your presence and attention to detail support a secure environment for staff and guests. You will also interact with employees and visitors, providing outstanding customer service and communication. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with access control procedures at the location, verifying identification and credentials for all individuals entering or exiting the premises.
  • Monitor security-related systems and equipment, reporting any irregularities or suspicious activity.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited activity through visible presence and attention to detail.
  • Provide customer service to individuals at the location by communicating policies and responding to inquiries regarding access procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the location and perimeter to observe and report security-related concerns.
  • Document all security-related activities, incidents, and irregularities as required by site procedures.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal management and site leadership on security-related matters as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
