As a Security Professional – Armed Government Patrol Specialist in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer, where you'll actively monitor and patrol government locations to help foster a secure environment for community members and staff. In this role, you will conduct regular patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service through positive interactions and clear communication. This armed position allows you to contribute to a collaborative, people-first team that values reliability, integrity, and innovation while making a meaningful impact in the community.

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, participate in emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols in and around the government facility and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
  • Monitor and report any suspicious activity, security-related hazards, or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Follow all Allied Universal and site-specific protocols for access control and incident reporting.
  • Engage with visitors, employees, and/or contractors to offer assistance while maintaining a visible security-related presence.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when required.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times while representing Allied Universal at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of experience in an armed security-related, law enforcement, or military position.
  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton training or certification is preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, which is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
