Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Access Control in Hialeah, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more.

As an Armed Security Officer specializing in access control at a logistics and distribution location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entry points, conducting routine patrols, and remaining visible throughout the premises. Your role involves verifying credentials, managing badge access, and providing outstanding customer service to staff and visitors. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Monitor access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain a secure environment within the logistics and distribution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and/or unusual activities according to company and client protocols.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and employees while maintaining a visible Allied Universal presence at the location.
  • Assist with visitor and vehicle access control, verifying credentials and logging entries as required by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a current armed guard card or license.
  • Have at least 6 months of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
