As a Security Professional – – Armed Government Patrol - Full Time in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and foster a secure environment. Your visible presence and routine patrols will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere while you provide exceptional customer service and clear communication. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering restricted areas as required by site-specific protocols.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal and client procedures.
  • Assist with crowd control and/or traffic management as needed during peak hours or special events.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary to address security-related concerns.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter disruptive behavior and provide reassurance to staff and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess at least one year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, or military roles.
  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
  • Possess customer service experience, which is preferred.
  • Possess a valid guard card or license, which is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, or baton is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
