As a Security Officer - Government Screener in San Luis Obispo, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As a Screener with Allied Universal at a government location, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a welcoming experience for all visitors. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry points, conducting screening procedures, and remaining visible to support a secure environment. You will interact with the public daily, offering exceptional customer service and clear communication. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Greet and screen all individuals entering the location, verifying identification and/or required credentials as appropriate.
• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies.
• Monitor entry points to help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited items.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, staff, and/or law enforcement as needed.
• Document and report any irregularities, incidents, or suspicious activity according to Allied Universal procedures.
• Remain alert and attentive while stationed at screening posts, adapting to changing conditions or requirements as directed by site management.

Minimum Requirements:

• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• A valid guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
