As a Security Professional - Shelter Patrol Unarmed Full-Time in East Elmhurst, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more.

As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will help to create a secure environment within a shelter location by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence. Your role is to help to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service and communication to all individuals on site. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and residents by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within the shelter location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or disturbances.
• Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
• Communicate promptly with Allied Universal management and/or site leadership regarding incidents, emergencies, or any security-related concerns.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying identification as needed, and helping to maintain order within the location.
• Support shelter staff and residents by providing information and assistance as needed, while upholding site-specific policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
