Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Retail Patrols in San Antonio, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols throughout a dynamic retail location. Your visible presence and strong communication skills will contribute to a welcoming environment for visitors and staff. This is a driving post, requiring you to navigate the premises and respond promptly to situations as they arise. Pay Rate: $15.00 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials when required, and reporting any irregularities.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining a visible presence and reporting any incidents of theft or property damage.
  • Collaborate with store management and/or law enforcement as directed in response to incidents or emergencies.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding incidents, observations, and activities during each shift.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
