As a Security Professional Access Control Logistics in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more.

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and conduct patrols to help to deter security-related incidents. You will interact with staff and visitors, providing outstanding customer service and clear communication while maintaining a visible presence. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control access to the logistics and distribution location, verifying credentials of individuals entering and exiting the premises.
  • Assist with visitor management procedures, including logging and directing guests as required by site-specific policies.
  • Provide customer service by addressing questions and concerns from employees and visitors in a professional manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or security-related incidents.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or irregularities according to Allied Universal and client procedures.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuations and/or other site-specific emergency protocols.
  • Collaborate with site staff and Allied Universal management to maintain a secure and orderly environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control, badge systems, and/or loss prevention is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
