Job Description


As a Security Professional - Commercial Building - Multiple Shifts in Newport Beach, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more.

As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a commercial real estate location, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence throughout the property. This is a driving position, requiring you to navigate the premises and respond promptly to situations as they arise. You will interact with tenants and visitors, offering exceptional customer service and clear communication. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns within the location.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with property management, visitors, and Allied Universal staff as needed.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
  • Assist with access control and monitor entry points to help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Remain visible and approachable to provide a security-related presence and assist individuals as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
