As a Security Officer - Access Control - Overnight Shift in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more.

As a Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in access control and security-related patrols within an educational setting. Your presence will help to deter incidents and promote a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors. You will interact regularly with the campus community, providing outstanding customer service and clear communication while upholding our core values of agility, reliability, and teamwork. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Monitor access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain security-related protocols at the location.
• Verify identification of individuals entering or exiting the premises, following site-specific access control procedures.
• Provide customer service by assisting students, staff, and visitors with inquiries related to access control and location policies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating as necessary according to site procedures.
• Document and report any irregularities, such as property damage, unusual occurrences, or unauthorized persons, in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter security-related risks and promote a secure environment.
• Support emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
• Collaborate with campus personnel to promote a secure and welcoming environment for all individuals at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
