Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol - Government Site in Marion, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents and promote a secure environment through regular patrols at a government location. Your responsibilities include remaining highly visible, responding to incidents, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. This position requires both armed credentials and driving, as you will be responsible for patrolling assigned areas by vehicle and/or on foot. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, adhering to site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner, using appropriate de-escalation techniques.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the assigned area to help to deter security-related incidents and promote a secure environment.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas to help to deter unauthorized access and report any suspicious behavior to the appropriate authorities.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and in a timely manner as directed by Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
  • Interact professionally with staff, visitors, and/or members of the public while upholding the standards of Allied Universal.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local regulations.
  • A valid driver’s license is required and must meet Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
