As a Security Professional - Utilities Access Control PT in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more.

As an Allied Universal Security Professional in an access control role within a utilities location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols. Pay Rate: $18.30 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with access control procedures by verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points at the utility location.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access by observing and reporting any suspicious activities or persons near restricted areas.
  • Provide customer service by responding to inquiries, offering directions, and addressing concerns from employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Carry out site-specific security-related policies and procedures in accordance with Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, initiating emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help identify potential security-related issues or hazards.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs of all access control activities, incidents, and observations as required by site protocols.
  • Collaborate with site management and Allied Universal supervisors to communicate concerns or incidents in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Ability to work at locations with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or a rustic guard shack is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
