As a Security Officer - Retail Site - Mall Patrol in Halethorpe, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming environment at a retail location. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to guests and employees, and providing outstanding customer service through clear communication. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible security-related presence.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas within the retail environment to observe and report any suspicious behavior or activity.
  • Assist with access control and/or crowd management as needed during busy periods or special events at the location.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with Allied Universal management and/or site management regarding incidents, hazards, or other concerns observed during patrols.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and/or daily activities as required by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required for positions that are primarily driving posts and/or for roles that require compliance with Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements.
  • Possession of a Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
