Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Badge Control in Lynchburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more.

As a Security Professional in a manufacturing and industrial location, you will play a critical role in access control operations. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and helping to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service to all personnel and visitors. This role requires strong communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to respond promptly to incidents or alarms. Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond appropriately to emergencies as needed.
  • Monitor and control access to the facility, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering or exiting the location.
  • Assist in helping to deter unauthorized access, theft, and/or other prohibited activities within the manufacturing and industrial environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to observe for irregularities or security-related concerns.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to company and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and client representatives to address security-related needs and concerns at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
