Job Description


As a Unarmed Security Officer - Access Control in BOISE, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more.

As an Access Control Officer in a dynamic tech, media, and telecom environment, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. You will remain visible and approachable, providing outstanding customer service and communication to everyone on site. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Monitor access control points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain the integrity of the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter, adapting to the unique environment of a tech, media, or telecom facility.
  • Document and report any unusual activities, security-related incidents, or maintenance issues observed during the shift.
  • Assist with visitor and contractor management processes, ensuring all individuals entering the location are properly identified and authorized.
  • Collaborate with other Allied Universal personnel and client representatives to address security-related concerns and support overall operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in the state where the job is located.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience working at locations with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
