Job Description


As a Security Officer - Tech Site - Overnight Shift in Rockford, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting regular patrols and maintaining a visible presence throughout the premises. You will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while monitoring assigned areas. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for operating a vehicle as part of your patrol duties. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the location's operations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe for unusual conditions.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or activities as required by site protocols.
  • Communicate professionally with site personnel, visitors, and/or local authorities as situations arise.
  • Support access control procedures by monitoring entry and exit points during patrols.
  • Remain alert to changes in the environment, reporting any concerns or potential hazards according to Allied Universal guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions and must meet Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
