As a Security Officer - Government Desk Specialist in Montrose, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As a Front Desk Security Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will serve as the first point of contact for employees, visitors, and guests. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and providing clear guidance to those entering the premises. You will play a critical role in helping to deter security-related incidents by maintaining a strong presence at the front desk, responding promptly to inquiries, and communicating professionally with all individuals. Pay Rate: $21.59 - $22.59 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and guests at the front desk by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Assist in monitoring access control by verifying identification and credentials for individuals entering the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence at the front desk to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access.
  • Communicate professionally with visitors, staff, and emergency personnel as needed.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, unusual observations, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel and Allied Universal management.
  • Support emergency response activities when appropriate, according to site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
