As a Unarmed Security Officer - Front Desk - Weekdays in San Mateo, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more.

As a Front Desk Security Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and secure environment for tenants, visitors, and staff. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access points, verifying credentials, managing badge control, and responding to security-related incidents as they arise. You will also be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service to clients, visitors, and tenants at the front desk by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Monitor access to the location, verifying identification and authorizing entry for guests, vendors, and employees as required.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations at the front desk in a calm, problem-solving manner, including escalating issues to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences at the front desk.
• Assist with emergency response activities as directed, following Allied Universal protocols and site-specific instructions.
• Communicate professionally with property management, tenants, and visitors to address inquiries, provide information, and/or direct individuals as needed.
• Help to deter unauthorized access or activities by maintaining a visible and professional presence at the front desk.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
• A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
