As a Security Officer – Armed Retail Site - Overnight Shift in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the location, maintaining a visible presence to help prevent potential issues, and responding promptly to security-related concerns. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing armed security-related protocols as required.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and key areas within the retail environment to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or other prohibited activities.
  • Document and report any incidents, observations, or unusual circumstances according to Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary to support incident resolution.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the retail location to help to deter disruptive behavior and provide reassurance to employees and customers.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a Level III armed certification for roles in Texas.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
