As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Corrections in Lakeland, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Corrections, and more.

As an Armed Patrol Officer in a corrections environment, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure and orderly atmosphere for all individuals within the location. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols, monitoring designated areas, and remaining highly visible to help deter potential security-related incidents. This position is armed, requiring you to be prepared to respond appropriately to incidents as they arise. You will interact with staff and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding the highest standards of professionalism. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies at the assigned corrections location, providing customer service to clients and visitors.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, taking appropriate action as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or disturbances.
  • Assist with monitoring access points and verifying identification of individuals entering or exiting the location.
  • Support emergency response activities when appropriate, including following established protocols for corrections environments.
  • Document incidents and observations accurately and promptly as required by site procedures.
  • Collaborate with corrections staff and Allied Universal team members to address security-related concerns and maintain order within the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent is required.
  • Must possess a valid Armed Guard Card or License as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Must have at least two years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience or hold a college degree.
  • Must possess a valid Corrections Officer License as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Must possess a valid Law Enforcement Officer License as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
