Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Corrections Patrol in Lakeland, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Corrections, and more.

As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a corrections environment, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure and orderly atmosphere. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols of assigned areas, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. This armed post requires you to carry and be proficient with a firearm as part of your daily duties. You will interact with staff, visitors, and residents, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication at all times. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, providing customer service to clients and visitors at the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual or suspicious activity, reporting any concerns according to site procedures.
  • Support emergency response activities as required, collaborating with law enforcement and/or facility personnel.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, incidents, and security-related activities as directed by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Assist with the enforcement of facility rules and regulations, addressing violations in accordance with site protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing training and maintain required certifications for armed patrol duties within a corrections environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent is required.
  • Possess a valid Armed Guard Card or license as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience, or possess a college degree.
  • Possess a valid Corrections Officer License as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Possess a valid Law Enforcement Officer License as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
