As a Security Professional - Government Facility - Multiple Shifts in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a Security Officer with Allied Universal assigned to a government location focused on access control, you will play a vital role in helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a secure environment for all personnel and visitors. Your responsibilities include monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols throughout the area to maintain a visible presence. You will interact with the public and staff, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication at all times. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access points to help to deter unauthorized entry to restricted areas within the location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter to help to identify and report any unusual activity or potential concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of access control activities, incidents, and observations during assigned shifts.
• Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and staff while upholding Allied Universal's standards for security-related services.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid TSA issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
• A current Guard Card or security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
