As a Security Officer - Utilities Site in San Ramon, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities and more .

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment at a utilities location. You will be responsible for conducting regular patrols throughout the premises, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. Your presence will help to create a welcoming atmosphere while upholding our values of reliability, integrity, and teamwork. In this dynamic position, you will interact with staff and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication at all times. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the utility location and its perimeter to help to deter potential security-related risks or unauthorized activities.
  • Monitor for potential hazards or suspicious behavior and report findings according to site procedures.
  • Communicate promptly with Allied Universal management and site contacts regarding incidents, observations, or concerns as required.
  • Support access control measures by monitoring entry and exit points and verifying credentials as needed.
  • Document all activities, incidents, and observations in accordance with company and site-specific protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least one year of experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military roles.
  • Must have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
