As a Security Officer - Armed Screener Patrol in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare and more .

As a Screener in a healthcare location, you will play a crucial role in helping to create a secure and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry points, conducting screening procedures, and maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. This post requires an Armed Guard Card or License, as you will be serving in an armed capacity to support the security-related needs of the site. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and screen individuals entering the healthcare location, following site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Provide customer service by assisting visitors, patients, and staff with questions and directions as needed.
  • Carry out security-related procedures, including monitoring entry points and verifying credentials when required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols.
  • Document and report any security-related concerns or incidents according to established procedures.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed by site leadership or Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a valid Armed Guard Card or License as required by state and/or local laws and regulations.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
