As a Security Guard - Utilities Site - Overnight Shift in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities and more .

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a crucial role in helping to maintain a secure environment at a utilities location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the assigned areas, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that may arise. You will engage with employees, visitors, and contractors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while monitoring access points and assisting with badge control. Your presence and attention to detail help to create a welcoming atmosphere, while upholding the values of agility, reliability, and innovation. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergency situations as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order at the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
• Monitor and report any suspicious activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist in controlling access to restricted areas and verify credentials as required by site protocols.
• Support emergency response efforts and communicate clearly with site staff and Allied Universal management as needed.
• Complete security-related logs and incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
