As a Security Officer - Education Patrol - Full Time in Sunnyvale, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more .

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will be responsible for monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help create a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your visible presence will help to deter potential security-related incidents while you provide exceptional customer service and clear communication. You will interact with a diverse community, respond to various situations with professionalism, and support a welcoming atmosphere. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus buildings and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and promote a secure atmosphere.
  • Maintain detailed records of observations, incidents, and activities as required by site procedures and Allied Universal protocols.
  • Support a welcoming environment by assisting students, staff, and visitors with directions and information as needed.
  • Follow all location-specific protocols related to emergency response, including fire drills, evacuations, and lockdowns, as directed by site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Possession of a state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
