As a Security Professional - Government Site Screener in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a SCREENER with Allied Universal, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment at a government location. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, and maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will interact with visitors, employees, and other personnel, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication at all times. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related screening procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the assigned location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
  • Monitor and screen individuals entering the location to help to deter prohibited items and/or unauthorized persons from gaining entry.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs and reports of all screening activities, incidents, and observations as required by site protocols.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, staff, and/or law enforcement as necessary to support the security-related operations of the location.
  • Remain alert and attentive to surroundings, reporting any unusual or suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
