As a Security Officer - Government Facility - Full Time in Gaithersburg, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a Screener with Allied Universal at a prominent government location, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment for all visitors, staff, and personnel. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring entrances and exits, conducting routine patrols of assigned areas, and remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will interact with a diverse range of individuals, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding access control protocols. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
• Screen individuals entering the location, verifying identification and/or credentials as required by site protocols.
• Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain an orderly flow of people.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as necessary.
• Document and report any unusual activities, incidents, or security-related concerns according to site procedures.
• Communicate professionally with visitors, staff, and/or contractors while maintaining a visible presence at designated screening points.
• Remain alert to potential security-related risks and assist in maintaining a secure environment at the government location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
