As a Security Officer - Armed TWIC Patrols in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial and more .

As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment by conducting regular patrols and remaining highly visible throughout the area. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you provide outstanding customer service and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. This position requires you to be armed, reflecting the importance of your role in protecting people and property in a dynamic industrial setting. Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, responding to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location, including both the interior and perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe for any unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain awareness of activities within the industrial environment.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and/or emergency situations, taking appropriate action in accordance with site protocols and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and activities during each shift as required by site policy.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and law enforcement as needed to address security-related concerns and maintain a secure environment.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to employees and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
