As a Security Officer - Commercial Site - Full Time n Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries.

As a Front Desk Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and staff at the location. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access, checking badges, and providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. You will use your communication skills and technology proficiency to support security-related operations, such as managing alarm panels and utilizing computers or tablets as needed. By remaining attentive and approachable, you will help to deter potential incidents and contribute to a secure environment. Pay Rate: $17.65 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the front desk in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Monitor access to the location, verifying identification and maintaining visitor logs as needed.
  • Assist with communications and inquiries from guests, employees, and/or vendors at the front desk.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or incidents to the appropriate Allied Universal personnel and/or client contacts.
  • Support the maintenance of a secure environment at the front desk by following post orders and company guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
